Cork told to brace itself for Storm Hannah
New weather warning for Cork as Storm Hannah approaches.

After a week of sunny and clear skies, Met Éireann have now said it’s to drastically change with strong winds and rain to hit Cork on Friday.

Met Éireann has issued a status orange weather alert for Friday evening when Storm Hannah sweeps across Cork city and county.

Met Éireann forecast strong southerly winds sweeping across Cork, reaching speeds of 65 to 80 km per hour and gusts varying between 110 to 130 km per hour when the winds start to head northwesterly.

Throughout Friday, there will be scattered showers and temperatures ranging between 10 to 12 degrees.

The warning will come into effect from 4 PM on Friday evening and will be lifted at 5 AM on Saturday morning. Met Éireann has advised that there may be disruptions and power outages.
