Generic Low Res Gavel law court justice crime

A 64-year-old man from East Cork admitted that he was distributing child pornography in August 2015.

Fergus Galvin pleaded guilty to a charge that on October 24, 2015, at his home at 15 Charleston Wharf, Balick Road, Midleton, County Cork, he knowingly had in his possession child pornography, namely 290 files consisting of images and movies portraying child pornography.

He also admitted knowingly distributing child pornography between August 27 and 30, 2015.

Sinead Behan, defence barrister said, “A psychiatric report would be of assistance in dealing with the sentencing matter.”

Judge Brian O’Callaghan adjourned sentencing until November 8 with the accused remanded on continuing bail until then.

No details of the offences were outlined at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

That will be done at the sentencing hearing in November.
