Cork features in a new tourism campaign targeting Paris metro passengers
The campaign is highlighting Cork as a key gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way and Ireland’s Ancient East.

Tourism Ireland in France has teamed up with Cork Airport and Aer Lingus, in a new campaign to promote flights to Cork and grow tourist numbers from France

The campaign includes digital ads in métro stations around Paris, which will be seen by almost seven million people. The ads feature images of Cobh and the Beara Peninsula. 

The campaign also includes social and digital ads which will reach many more millions.

Monica MacLaverty, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Southern Europe said: “As an island, the importance of convenient, direct, non-stop flights cannot be overstated – they are absolutely critical to achieving growth in inbound tourism.” France is one of the top four markets for tourism to the island of Ireland and 2018 was another record-breaking year for French visitor numbers to Ireland.

Monica MacLaverty continued: “2018 was the best year ever for tourism from France to Ireland when we welcomed about 564,800 French arrivals. For 2019, we are rolling out an extensive programme of promotional activity in France to build on that success and, in particular, to encourage more French holidaymakers to explore our regions and less-visited attractions, during the shoulder and off-season months. Co-operative campaigns with key partners, like this one with Aer Lingus and Cork Airport, are an important element of our programme, to boost travel to Ireland in 2019.”
