Contract issued for resurfacing 52 city streets and estates

Cork City Council has published its road resurfacing contract for 2019.

52 separate roads and estates have been listed in the contract covering more than 136,000 square metres of road resurfacing.

City Hall is seeking a contractor to plan existing surfaces to various depths before resurfacing them with tarmacadam.

The Contract includes improvement of road drainage where required, repositioning utility covers and replacement of all road markings and other ancillary works.

In addition to the above, the placing of traffic calming ramps is being carried out under the Contract.

The contract includes streets and estates in the newly expanded city including Ballincollig, Glanmire, Rochestown and Blarney.

Shandon Street is included in the contract along with a section of the rochestown Road from Harty's Quay to Hop Island. Rossa Avenue in front of CIT, the North Ring Road from Ballyhooly Road to Tinker's Cross.

Forge Hill, Donnybrook Hill, the Cross Douglas road, Anderson's Quay outside Jury's Inn and Parknamore Heights in Ballincollig are also included in the contract.
