Cork Bonfire Night events cancelled due to heavy rain

People enjoying alternative family events for Bonfire Night in Kilmore Road in Knocknaheeny organised by local community groups in conjunction with Cork City Council.

A number of family-friendly bonfire night events planned for today have been cancelled due to the heavy rain.

Seven outdoor events were planned in City Council parks as follows, with a range of activities such as games, sports, inflatables, face painting, local music etc.:

  • Kilmore Park, Knocknaheeny 2pm to 5pm 
  • Pophams Park, Farranree 4pm to 7pm 
  • Glenamoy Park, Mayfield 5pm to 8pm
  • Comeragh Park, The Glen 4pm to 7pm 
  • Meelick Park, Ballyvolane 4pm to 7pm 
  • Loughmahon Park, Mahon 5.30pm to 8.30pm 
  • Clashduv Park, Togher 5pm to 9pm 

However, City Hall said they have to cancel the events due on health and safety grounds.
