Whitegate Rowing Club is having a day of celebration tomorrow (Saturday, April 20), having been chosen as the host club for the 2019 Irish Coastal Rowing Championships.
It will host one of the largest regattas in the country, and the club is honoured to have been chosen.
The Irish Coastal Rowing Championships take place from August 23-24 at the National Rowing Centre at Inniscarra, Cork.
The committee of Whitegate Rowing Club is inviting the entire community to come along and celebrate this huge achievement tomorrow (Saturday) between 5.30pm and 7.30pm at Whitegate Rowing Club, where an evening of celebration is planned.
This launch event coincides with a club open day, where those interested in the sport are welcome to come along and learn more.
Club Chairperson Rachel Barry notes: “Coastal rowing is a fantastic sport and our members range from junior rowers of 10 years, right up to our Masters members (over 55) with incredible experience!
"We look forward to welcoming you all down to Whitegate Rowing Club tomorrow to share in the experience!” Check it out, you'll love the sport.
