MONDAY’S torrential rain will feel like a distant memory this Easter weekend as Ireland basks in a mini-heatwave.

Temperatures have been rising the last few days and are set to peak this weekend.

Cork will be as warm as the Costa Del Sol, with hot, dry weather until at least Monday.

Although there may be some cloud cover, temperatures today will reach 19C, before peaking at 20C tomorrow, according to Met Éireann.

Temperatures will drop but still stay warm through the weekend, with Sunday partly cloudy, but reaching 17C, while Bank Holiday Monday will see clear skies and temperatures up to 15C.

Forecasts predict more mixed weather next week, but temperatures will remain higher than normal.

For tomorrow, Met Éireann said: “Another mild or warm day depending; mostly dry and calm too with any early mist soon clearing. Long spells of warm hazy spring sunshine across much of Leinster and Munster.”
