Gardaí investigating second Cork stabbing in 24 hours

A second stabbing incident in the space of 24 hours occurred in Cork City last night.

Gardaí are investigating an assault incident that took place on Glenryan Road in Gurranabraher on Thursday night at approximately 11 PM.

A man in his 30s received a number of apparent stab wounds and was brought to Cork University Hospital. 

His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening and the scene is currently preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí arrested a man in 20s at the scene and he was brought to Gurranabraher Garda Station, where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

This incident took place a day after another stabbing incident on the Curraheen Road on Wednesday night, when a man in his 20s and another in his late teens were attacked by a gang. 

The teenager received treatment for a stab wound.
