Gardaí investigating Cork toddler's murder are preparing a file for the DPP

GARDAÍ investigating the murder of toddler Santina Cawley are currently preparing a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The two-year-old girl died at Cork University Hospital on July 5, hours after being rushed to the hospital with serious injuries from an apartment at the Elderwood complex on Boreenmanna Rd.
She was laid to rest in St Catherine’s cemetery in Kilcully. During Mass of the Angels before the burial, a letter was read from her mother Bridget.
It said: “She was my angel. She always made me smile and laugh. She always knew what she wanted and she was very fond of the Teletubbies.”
During the Mass, her father Mike stood beside the tiny coffin.
A murder investigation was launched after a postmortem examination.
A woman in her 30s was arrested and questioned, before being released without charge.
