The Crawford Art Gallery recorded its busiest June in over a decade.
Visitor numbers were up 16% on the same month last year.
Last year the gallery began opening its doors seven days a week and announced later opening hours.
The gallery is now open until 8pm on Thursdays, a measure which the Crawford says is already proving popular.
At the time, director of the gallery Mary McCarthy said that their aim with extending late hours was to support businesses in the city to help Cork city thrive.
Crawford Art Gallery is a National Cultural Institution and regional art museum for Munster.
The collection comprises almost 4,000 works, ranging from eighteenth-century Irish and European painting and sculpture, through to contemporary video installations.
