Warning notices issued for a number of Cork beaches in recent days have been lifted.
Youghal Claycastle, Garryvoe, Cadogan's Strand, Fountainstown and Tragumna all had warnings in place due to the possibility of elevated bacteria levels in the waters.
However, Cork County Council has said the latest water samples taken at the beaches have been recorded as excellent, and compliant with the bathing water regulations.
"The Prior Notice has been lifted in consultation with the HSE," County Hall said.
Warning notices are still in place for Youghal Front Strand and outright swimming bans are also still in place for Whiddy and Warren beaches.
The waters at most Cork beaches will continue to be monitored and notices and warnings will be lifted once they reach satisfactory levels.
