Bathing notice lifted at Kinsale beach following overflow incident 

A precautionary bathing notice advising people not to swim has been lifted at Dock Beach in Kinsale, Irish Water has confirmed.

The notice was put in place by Cork County Council following an overflow incident occurred at a pump station in Denis Quay, Kinsale today.

In a statement released this evening, Irish Water revealed that the incident has been resolved and the pumping station is operating normally.

Sampling and testing of water in the area has been completed and Cork County Council, in consultation with the HSE, has confirmed the notice can now be lifted.

Irish Water has apologised to those impacted by this incident.
