CORK City Fire Service battled a blaze at commercial premises on the northside of the city tonight and used the incident to highlight the potentially devastating impact of smoke damage.
Two crews from Anglesea Street dealt with the commercial fire in The Glen area this evening.
There were no injuries reported by fire crews, who entered the building wearing breathing apparatus, worked in zero visibility conditions to get the fire under control
The blaze was brought under control but fire crews used the incident to highlight the dangers they face on a regular basis.
Taking to social media, a fire service crew member posted a picture of three helmets, two of which were inside the building.
The post said: "Two of the helmets below are owned by the initial breathing apparatus team. In comparison to the middle helmet it shows the damage smoke can cause."
