Beara Film Festival fund goes to aid Cork Penny Dinners
Beara Film Festival Director, Ger O'Leary presenting Cork Penny Dinners volunteer coordinator, Caitríona Twomey with a cheque for €925.

A CHEQUE presentation took place at Cork Penny Dinners following the success of the Beara Film Festival.

The festival was held in Castletownbere last July in the former St Peter’s Church of Ireland.

This year’s event was kindly supported by Cork County Council Arts Grant Scheme 2019, Creative Ireland, Co Cork 2019 and Pure Cork. Donations taken at the door were donated to Cork Penny Dinners to help with their ongoing work providing those in need with a hot meal. A total of €925 was raised on the night for the event.

Plans are already being made for the Beara Film Festival 2020 which will see all funds raised donated to the Friends of Leukemia Patients Cork.

Friends of Leukaemia Patients Cork are an Independent registered charity. The charity is a voluntary organisation which was established in 1985 by Imelda Reynolds. It has been providing help to leukaemia patients and their family for 34 years. Cork actor Pascal Scott, who starred in the Young Offenders movie, has been a patron of the festival since it was started by West Cork actor, Ger O’Leary.
