Patrick's Bridge is due to reopen to traffic at 6am tomorrow morning as Irish Water carry out water supply improvement works.

One lane between St. Patrick's Quay and Camden Quay, crossing the junction of Patrick's Bridge and Bridge Street, was closed to facilitate the works.

Pedestrian access and crossings to Bridge Street were to be maintained. However pedestrians could not use the bridge over the weekend.

In an update, Irish Water said the pedestrian access had to be closed due to health and safety issues.

"Irish Water acknowledge the inconvenience to the public but we must prioritise their safety," they said.
