A CORKWOMAN who found out her wedding and engagement rings were stolen the night before her wedding anniversary is appealing for help in finding them.
Siobhan Kirby from Ballincollig had forgotten her rings at home when she and her family went on holidays.
The family returned to their Ballincollig home last Friday night and discovered it had been burgled on Tuesday, July 16. She and her husband Ian's sixth wedding anniversary was last Saturday.
The alarm had been activated but when gardaí responded, the burglars were gone. A ladder was found at the back of the house and it is believed they used this to enter the house through an upstairs window.
Siobhan's wedding and engagement rings were stolen, along with a Sky Q and a Wii.
But she said the family are most desperate to find the rings.
She said she had designed them herself with Aksoy jewellers in Cork city and they are made of white gold. They are 18 carat.
