Well-known TV presenters Ant and Dec were in Fermoy today meeting some of Ant’s relatives as part of a documentary they are working on.
Anthony Cody from Fermoy said he found out today he was related to Ant McPartlin.
“I just arrived at my grandmother’s house and there they were,” Mr Cody said.
The TV duo were filming for a documentary that retraces their heritage and it was revealed that Ant McPartlin was related to Mr Cody’s grandmother.
“Ant is my grandmother’s second cousin,” Anthony said.
Mr Cody said the TV pair were lovely chaps.
“They are very nice guys, they are exactly as they are on the TV,” Anthony said.
There was a great buzz around Fermoy today while Ant and Dec were in town.
“I went up to my grandmother’s house and there were just people everywhere.
“It was mad and then they went around St Bernard’s Place chatting to the locals.”
Mr Cody said the dynamic duo had a cup of tea and a biscuit up at his grandmother’s house in St Bernard’s Place in Fermoy while doing interviews out the back with his uncles as well as going through old photos.
“They were around for the whole day, chatting and meeting the locals,” Anthony said.
“We were all invited to a party in England in a few weeks as well.”
Anthony got a few snaps taken of the cheeky pair with himself and his young son Alex, before Ant and Dec headed off for lunch in the Grand Hotel before flying home.
