Cork Airport remains Ireland's fastest-growing airport despite the loss of Norwegian

The number of flights through Cork Airport jumped by almost 5% last month.
The 4.9% increase, when compared to July 2018, makes Cork the fastest growing airport in the country.
Traffic through Dublin increased by 2.1% while traffic fell at Shannon Airport by 6.1%.
For the year to date, traffic at Cork is up 7.6% almost twice that of Dublin which has recorded 3.9% increase.
However, the volume of flights through Dublin is approximately ten times the traffic through Cork.
There were 21,898 flights through Dublin in July compared to 2,163 in Cork and 2,104 in Shannon.
Norwegian announced this week that they were ceasing all transatlantic flights from the three airports as of September 15.
