"Disgusting": vandals shatter glass dugouts at Mahon football club

A Mahon-based soccer club has posted pictures of vandalism to their grounds, which they believe was caused by locals in the area.
Ringmahon Ranger's dugouts were badly damaged two weeks ago when some youths shattered the glass.
CCTV footage has been handed over to the Gardaí.
Paul Higgins, club treasurer, said that the vandalism was "disgusting".

"We have had a few bits before, people cutting fences to get in to play, but nothing too serious so we are not overly stressed by it. We are lucky, the people around here respect us," he told The Echo.
"But the people who did this went out of their way to do it. They shattered the glass, it's expensive to replace because it comes in sheets."
Mr Higgins estimates it will cost €2000 in total to replace the glass. "That will come straight out of the club's funds."
"It is very disappointing. After everything we do for the kids, all the effort we put in for the local area, the volunteering... it's disgusting."
