Crane required for truck wedged in tight corner; traffic mayhem across the city

A CRANE was required to assist a truck that got wedged at the bottom of Richmond Hill this evening, causing major traffic congestion across the city.

The truck drove down Richmond Hill and attempted to turn left only to get stuck, blocking off the junction with Wellington road via Hardwick Street for a number of hours.

The incident occurred shortly before 5pm and the truck was removed by a crane after 7pm. The crane had been on standby until car movements in the area calmed.

A local taxi company described this evening’s traffic as ‘manic’ and said that there was also a bus that broke down on O’Donovan’s Road at the same time which also contributed to the traffic chaos.
