Woman launched tirade of abuse in fast food outlet

A WOMAN launched a tirade of abuse against a person serving in a fast food outlet and then verbally abused a member of An Garda Síochána.

She also failed to show up in court for the case against her yesterday.

Megan Hill of Knockfree Avenue, Fairhill, was due to appear in Cork District Court to faces charges of engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and being drunk and a source of danger.

Judge Olann Kelleher said the case could go ahead in her absence.

The judge heard evidence from Garda Sheena Dowling. He then convicted Megan Hill on the charges and issued a bench warrant for her arrest so that she could be brought to court for sentencing.

Garda Dowling said the accused caused a disturbance at McDonald’s on Daunt Square on June 28.

“I want my f***ing order you f***ing spastic,” Megan Hill shouted at the person behind the counter.

She then asked the member of staff, “Are you a f***ing retard?”

Hill insisted at the time, “I want my order now.”

When Garda Dowling arrived to deal with Megan Hill the defendant said, “Get your f***ing hands off me.”

Hill told Garda Dowling, “I will bash your f***ing head in if you touch me. You are a f***ing tramp.”

Later, after she was arrested, Megan Hill told Garda Dowling, “I am going to slit your f***ing throat.”

Judge Olann Kelleher convicted the accused on charges of being drunk and threatening and issued a bench warrant for his arrest so that she could be brought before the court for penalty.
