Raffle to win a Cork house sells out

ONE lucky person is soon to win a house in Cork for just €100.
The WinAGaff competition, which launched last July announced that it has sold all of the 9,000 available tickets.
The draw is set to take place this Saturday in Douglas GAA Club, hosted by RedFM’s Neil Prendeville.
The house in question is a new 75 square metre, two-bedroom apartment in Ballintemple. The property will be presented to the winner complete with built-in kitchen, appliances, wardrobe and a landscaped patio.
The proceeds raised from the competition will go towards three Cork sports clubs, Cork City FC, Douglas GAA club and Kinsale AFC.
Douglas GAA plans to use the proceeds to develop floodlighting and improvements to its pitch, while Cork City FC will invest in its youth academy and community projects.
Kinsale AFC says the money raised will improve its ageing facilities after the numbers involved in the club trebled in just five years.
Paul Wycherley, general manager of Cork City Football Club said: “This competition is being run to benefit the three clubs in Cork and to invest in sport in Cork.”
He praised it for being an innovative competition, adding that tickets have been purchased as far away as Australia and Canada.
