EIGHTIES and 90s music icon Belinda Carlisle has pulled out of tonight's sold-out concert at the Cork Opera House.
"It is with deep regret that we have to announce the cancellation of Belinda Carlisle's sold-out show at Cork Opera House tonight," the promoter said.
"Belinda has come down with a severe throat infection and, having been seen by a doctor first thing this morning, has been advised it is impossible for her to perform."
Tonight's concert was the last date on Belinda's European tour so it is not possible to re-schedule and full refunds will be issued to all ticket holders.
"We are very aware that fans have travelled from all over Ireland for tonight's show at great expense and we can assure people that this decision was not taken lightly. We are extremely sorry for this turn of events and will endeavour to bring Belinda back to Cork at the earliest possible opportunity."
Belinda Carlisle is best-known for her string of pop hits from the 1980s and 1990s, including ‘Heaven is a Place on Earth’ and ‘Leave a Light On’.
