CLUBS, societies, schools, and members of the public are being encouraged to nominate a young person in their community that is helping to make life better for others.

The 2019 Cork City Division Garda Youth Awards are now open and accepting nominations for people living in Cork City and aged between 13 and 21 years of age.

City Councillor Tony Fitzgerald said the awards are an important project for encouraging young people to get involved in their community.

“Is there a young person who has used their skills and talents to make life better for others through sport, community engagement, or services? This is a great opportunity to recognise the good in young people.”

The closing date for submissions is Friday, November 1 and the ceremony will be held at the Rochestown Park Hotel on November 28.

Application forms can be filled in online on the EchoLive website through the following link: https://www.echolive.ie/gardayouthawards
