Multinational firm to create 55 new jobs in Cork
EY Cork is based on Lapp's Quay.

FIFTY-five new jobs will be created in Cork by multinational accounting firm Ernst & Young (EY) at their Lapp’s Quay offices.

John Higgins, Managing Partner, EY Cork, said the company wants to broaden its offering to clients in the Munster region. Over 230 people already work for the firm on Leeside.

“Our plans to create these 55 new roles over the coming months reflects our continuing strong growth and commitment to Cork and the broader Munster region. The changing needs of our clients in Cork reflect the national trend, with an increasing focus on digital transformation, and the need for an evolving set of skills that will help them face the headwinds and embrace the opportunities that currently exist and that lie ahead.

“We continue to broaden the scope of our client offering in Cork, and we’re delighted to welcome Ian Collins, R&D tax partner who is now permanently located in Cork. We’re proud to serve the region’s most successful technology, life sciences and energy companies and entrepreneurial businesses, and it’s really important to us to be able to create highly-skilled roles for people in Cork that allow them to flourish professionally in their local community,” Mr Higgins added.

The jobs will form part of a 600-position expansion in Ireland for the company over the next 12 months.

Taoiseach Mr Leo Varadkar said: “These are highly-skilled jobs that will be created across six cities over the next year. It’s super that more than half of the jobs will go to new graduates, providing young people with a great start to their career straight out of college.”
