Tributes paid to popular Cork dance teacher after her passing

TRIBUTES have been paid to popular Cork dance teacher Nicky Hayes who passed away this week.

Ms Hayes, formerly of Blackrock and Carrigaline, was the founder of Nicky’s Dance Studio in Donnybrook, Douglas.

She passed away peacefully at Marymount Hospital and Hospice on Thursday.

She is survived by her daughter Emily. Her funeral will take place over the weekend.

Mahon Community Centre described Ms Hayes as "a lovely and kind lady, she had huge passion and extreme loyalty to her dance students and family, she will be very sadly missed".

They continued: “Heartfelt Condolences to her family and her friends and club members past and present. From all Mahon Community Centre R.I.P."

A Parish of Traction Facebook page said: “Nicky brought much joy to the children of Tracton at her dancing classes. Huge condolences to her daughter Emily and her family.” 

Ms Hayes spoke to The Echo about her battle with cancer back in October.
