A multi-car collision on Carrs Hill has led to delays for motorists this morning in Cork city.
The incident which took place at approximately 7.30am has seriously affected city-bound access to the N40.
AA Road watch said this morning: “Traffic is very heavy on the N28 from just after the Shannonpark Roundabout through to the Bloomfield Interchange, where Gardaí are dealing with a collision.
“Not far away, there are very long delays on the local road from Coach Hill all the way past the N28 flyover onto Maryborough Hill.
“There's a long queue inbound on Rochestown Rd approaching the roundabout off the N28.
“We have no reports of traffic lights out of action on the North Ring Rd at the Tivoli flyover. Nearby, Lwr Glanmire Rd is very busy inbound from the Dunkettle R/A past Tivoli.
“It's quite slow on the N20 Commons Rd heading into Blackpool.
“The N40 is busiest eastbound from after J9 Bloomfield through to the Dunkettle Interchange.”
