GARDAÍ pursued a stolen vehicle through the city centre today, arresting three men near Cork Opera House.
The incident happened shortly before 10am today after a car failed to stop when requested to so by gardaí.
The garda armed support unit and patrol officers followed the stolen vehicle, eventually arresting the young men near Cork Opera House.
Three men in their 20s were arrested at the scene and are currently held in Garda custody.
A statement from gardaí said: "Gardaí observed a car driving dangerously at speed in the Popes Quay area, North Bridge Gate, Cork this morning Nov 30, 2019 at approximately 9.45am.
"The car failed to stop and a managed pursuit by Gardaí ensued.
"The car was intercepted on Pope’ s Quay near the Cork Opera House and three male occupants of the car were arrested at scene.
"One man in his 20s was taken to Gurranabraher Garda Station and two men (20s) were taken to the Bridewell Garda Station, Cork. All three were detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
"This car was the subject of an unauthorised taking two days prior to the incident this morning. No injuries were sustained and investigations are ongoing."
