A 47-year-old Togher man confirmed a signed plea of guilty to a cocaine-dealing charge.

James Cregan, aged 47, with an address at 49 Palmbury Orchard, Togher, Cork, pleaded guilty to a charge of having cocaine for sale or supply at Lehanaghmore, Togher, on July 19, 2019.

He confirmed his signed plea at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

Emmet Boyle, defence barrister, said the accused was in addiction treatment in Bruree, County Limerick, and had nine more weeks to spend there.

“He has a longstanding gambling addiction which was why he got involved in this kind of behaviour,” Mr Boyle said.

Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin put sentencing back until April 24 at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.
