People in Cork are being advised to be careful on the roads tonight.

It comes as Cork has been issued with a yellow weather warning for cold weather.

Met Éireann issued the warning alongside other counties in Munster, Connacht, and Leinster.

Dublin, Wicklow, Wexford and Waterford are the only counties not affected.

Nighttime temperatures are expected to plummet to between -2 and -4 degrees Celsius, while people are being warned to watch out for widespread severe frost with the risk of icy patches.

The warning came into effect this evening at 8pm, and is valid until Monday morning at 10am.

Met Éireann have also advised that there will be some pockets of freezing fog across the country.
