Following her recent triumphant sold out Irish tour, Sinéad O’Connor has announced announced a major gig in Cork next summer.
Damien Dempsey will join her as her guest when she plays Live At The Marquee on Friday June 5.
It is the first of three gigs she has planned for Ireland next summer, she will also play in Dublin and Belfast.
Three days later, it will be the turn of indie-rock behemoths The National to take to the stage at the Cork Venue.
2019 has marked the return of Sinéad O'Connor and a new beginning that will see her bring out new music and tour the world once again as one of the true and original living greats of our time.
From the early new wave explosion of ‘Mandinka’ to the multi–platinum soul of Prince’s ‘Nothing Compares to You’ Sinéad had left an indelible mark with her unique image and vocal style.
Chart topping singles, hit albums, numerous awards an array of collaborations later and Sinéad’s spiritual journey would lead her through a turbulent, troubled and restless existence to find solace in Islam.
Following their stunning headlining performance at this year’s All Together Now Festival in Waterford, The National - Matt Berninger, Aaron Dessner, Bryce Dessner, Scott Devendorf and Bryan Devendorf - will play Live at the Marquee Cork on June 8.
The National have established themselves as mainstays of arenas and festivals with sold-out performances and headlining slots around the world. Over their 20-year career the band has sold more than 2 million albums in the U.S. alone.
Their most recent album, released earlier this year, I Am Easy To Find, is the band’s eighth studio album and the follow-up to 2017’s Grammy-award winning release Sleep Well Beast.
Tickets for Sinéad O’Connor at the Marquee go on sale on Monday December 9 at 9am. Tickets for The National in cork Cork go on sale this Friday December 6, also at 9am.
