SEVERAL units of Cork City Fire Brigade were called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident after a car flipped a number of times on the South Ring Road this afternoon.
The incident occurred near the Kinsale Road junction at around 2pm today.
Emergency services rushed to the scene but the driver and passengers only sustained minor injuries.
A total of four people had been travelling in the car at the time of the accident.
A Garda spokesperson said: "The car flipped on the road a number of times but the injuries of those travelling in the car are said to be minor."
A number of witnesses posted about the incident on social media, saying it was a very lucky escape.
One wrote: "Lucky no one seriously injured, just a few cuts and bruises."
Cork City Fire Brigade urged motorists to slow down and exercise caution while they dealt with the incident.
Delays were kept to a minimum with a Garda spokesperson stating that the accident was dealt with relatively quickly.
