A GARDA operation has led to the latest large seizure of drugs in a Cork town.
Suspected drugs and cash amounting to over €19,000 were confiscated from a house in the Kinsale area on Wednesday night.
No arrests have yet been made.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí have seized approximately €16,000 of suspected drugs and €3,300 in cash during a search in Kinsale, Co Cork on 11th December, 2019.
“As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the West Cork Garda Division, Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit executed a search warrant at a house in Kinsale at approximately 5.30pm.
“During the course of the search, Gardaí seized suspected cannabis herb worth €15,000, other various controlled drugs worth €1,000, €3,300 in cash and drug paraphernalia.
“No arrests have been made but Gardaí are following a definite line of enquiry.” It is the latest in a number of drugs finds in the greater West Cork area in recent days.
It was confirmed on Wednesday that ten people were arrested during an operation targeting organised crime in West Cork.
€17,300 cash and an estimated €17,200 of suspected cannabis was also seized in two separate searches on Tuesday.
The arrests related to assault, theft, possession of drugs and possession of an offensive weapon, while another was on foot of a bench warrant.
