Huge tailbacks after another crash on the South Ring Road

There was another serious crash on the N40 South Ring Road

THERE was another serious crash on the N40 South Ring Road tonight with emergency services rushing to the scene shortly after 7pm.

Traffic was at a standstill on the westbound side of the Ring Road, between the Douglas flyover and the Kinsale Road Roundabout.

The crash was blocking two lanes. It was unclear if anyone was seriously injured.

AA Roadwatch said: "Gardaí are dealing with a collision on the N40 westbound before J6 Kinsale Rd blocking two lanes. Traffic is very heavy on approach from J9 Bloomfield."

AA Roadwatch reported: "The N71 is closed on the Bandon side of Inishannon while emergency services deal with a collision. There are traffic lights malfunctioning on Main St in Innishannon (part of the N71)."
