Skibbereen stabbing investigation launched

GARDAÍ in West Cork are investigating a stabbing incident in Skibbereen last night.
Emergency services were called to a home in the Riverdale area of the town at approximately 8.15pm on Tuesday night.
A 39-year-old man was discovered to have stab wounds and was rushed to Cork University Hospital.
A forensic examination is taking place at the scene this morning. No arrests have yet been made.
A statement from the Garda Press Office said: “Gardaí at Skibbereen Co Cork are investigating a stabbing incident which occurred at Riverdale, Skibbereen at approximately 8.15pm last night, Tuesday 10th December 2019.
“Gardaí and emergency were called to a house at the above location, a 39 year old male received apparent stab wounds. He was taken to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.”
