Roads closed and buses diverted after crash near Cork Airport

EMERGENCY services are attending the scene of a crash near Cork Airport.

The incident took place at Bowens Cross at approximately 12.50pm and involved a car and a truck. 

The collision has been described as serious but it is unclear if there are any injuries.

Three units of the Cork City Fire Brigade and another from Carrigaline Cork County Fire Service, along with ambulance crews, are attending the scene. The road is expected to remain closed for some time.

The Kinsale Road has been closed northbound at the turn off for Cork Airport. 

Bus Eireann has diverted the 226 and 226 buses through alternative routes following the incident.
