Two Cork women are celebrating after winning money and prizes on RTE One's Winning Streak over the weekend.

Joan Holland from Togher, Cork appeared on Winning Streak last Saturday (January 25).

Another Cork woman, Ann O’Donovan from Drinagh, also won big on the same night.

Joan Holland was celebrating double after winning a total of €58,000 on the show, the same week her son announced his engagement.

She was overjoyed when she won €30,000 on the wheel alone after bagging herself a further €28,000 in cash.

Joan's ticket was pulled from the drum last week as she was celebrating with her family at home after her son announced his engagement.

Joan’s son Jonathon got engaged to his partner Chloe and the family were together when Joan’s other daughter, Gillian, got a call informing her that her mum’s name had been drawn to appear on next week’s Winning Streak.

Ann O’Donovan from Drinagh was also successful in bringing home the bacon.

She won a Renault Zoe electric car worth €25,000 in the very first game of the show. She went on to win a further €8,000 in cash.

Ann spoke of visiting her brother Paddy, the previous Saturday. As they said goodbye, she commented that she was off home to watch Winning Streak, a Saturday night ritual in her household.

Paddy said: "You’re off home to watch your name come out", to which Ann said that there was no chance of that.

She even went as far as to say that the scratch card she sent to the National Lottery was probably a "waste of a stamp." She was pleasantly surprised when her name was pulled out of the drum to appear on the show the following week.

With any winnings from the show, Ann will look after her family and will get a holiday in Ireland with her husband, Dan Joe.
