Commuters in Cork are being reminded that York Street on the northside of the city is due to be closed to traffic from tomorrow for twelve months.
The street closure is to facilitate the development of the former Windsor Inn Hotel, on the corner of York Street and MacCurtain Street.
Local vehicular access only will be available to Little William Street and Wood’s Place via Wellington Road for the duration of the closure.
Pedestrian access from MacCurtain Street to Wellington Road will also be maintained for the duration of the closure on York Street.
A post on the Victorian Quarter Facebook page recommends that people use York Hill as an alternative route which will be a 'one way northbound' to accommodate traffic flow.
