Cork man confesses to threatening to kill his neighbours

Luke Taylor appeared at Cork Circuit Criminal Court

A 21-year-old man has confessed to five charges arising out an incident one year ago when he threatened to kill neighbours.

Luke Taylor of 11 Cherry Lawn, Blackrock, appeared at Cork Circuit Criminal Court where he was arraigned on the various charges.

He pleaded guilty to all counts.

Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin put sentencing back until February 13, 2020.

The charges relate to a family living in another part of the same estate at Cherry Lawn.

The first two charges state that he threatened a man and a woman causing them to believe that he would kill or cause them serious harm.

Taylor was charged with producing a knife during the making of these alleged threats.

The last two charges accuse him of causing €250 worth of criminal damage to the front door at the woman’s house and €870 damage to the man’s car.

Taylor replied, ‘Guilty’, to each of the five charges against him.

He was remanded on bail on these charges for sentencing in February. He is in custody for other matters as he is serving an unrelated sentence.
