Postmortem results to decide course of investigation into woman found dead in Cork 

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The results of a postmortem on a 52-year-old woman, who was found dead by her partner in bed around 1.30pm on Saturday, are expected to be released by Monday afternoon. 

The unexplained death occurred at a house in the Brookdale area of Riverstick.

"The woman’s remains have been removed to the Morgue at Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out," Gardaí said in a statement.

A technical examination of the scene has been carried out and the scene is being held by Gardaí until the postmortem results come back.

Speaking to The Echo, Chief Superintendent Con Cadogan said that the results of the postmortem would decide the course of the investigation.
