Pedestrian treated in hospital after Cork accident

A WOMAN has been treated in hospital after being knocked down by a car on the outskirts of Cork city.

The accident occurred on Maryborough Hill at around midday.

Gardai, the National Ambulance Service and Cork City Fire Service all attended the scene.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital with what have been described as minor injuries.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The road was closed for a short period but has since re-opened.
