Gardaí have issued a witness appeal following a serious crash in the Ballygarvan area where the driver failed to remain at the scene.
The single-vehicle collision occurred in the Rathmacullig area of Ballygarvan.
The passenger of the car, a man in his 30s, was brought to Cork University Hospital with what is believed to be serious injuries.
In a statement, Gardaí said they are appealing for anyone who was in the Rathmacullig area, particular road users with any video footage, to contact Togher Garda Station on 021-4947120, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
A man has been taken to hospital with injuries following a serious car crash close to Ballygarvan village around lunchtime.
Four units of the Fire Bridage attended the incident from 12.30 to 2.30pm which saw an individual taken to hospital with serious injuries.
It is understood the car crashed into a wall in front of a house.
It is believed the driver escaped injury, but the passenger was seriously injured.
The road has been closed for forensic investigation between farmers cross and Cork Airport roundabout.
Diversions are in place and Gardaí have said they hope to have the road reopened by 5pm.
