Numerous traffic and road offences were detected by a joint Garda and Road Safety Authority checkpoint in the Cork city area today.

The Cork City Roads Policing Unit seized a vehicle because it had no tax.

Another driver was stopped because the vehicle's tyres were extremely worn down.

Numerous other offences were also detected, such as tachograph infringements and documents offences.

Fixed charge penalty notices will be issued and court appearances will follow.
