A MAN is being questioned this afternoon about the murder of a man in Bweeng over four years ago.

The man, who is in his 40s, is being questioned about the death of Peter Murphy, at the 36-year-old's rented home at Shanavoher, near Bweeng, in February 2015. He was found on February 7, 2015 by his landlord.

The man being questioned today was arrested under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 and is being held in Mallow garda station.

His arrest follows the arrests of two men in October about the murder. Both were released without charge.

The dead man had been last seen on the Thursday afternoon prior to his body being found, and his last phone contact was at 4pm that day when he spoke to his mother Maria.
