Two vehicles seized by Cork Gardaí; one deemed 'dangerously defective'

The Cork City Road Policing conducted two checkpoints in conjunction with the Road Saftey Authority and seized a car and a heavy goods vehicle (HGV).

GARDAÍ in Cork have seized two vehicles in the city today for multiple offences.

The Cork City Road Policing Unit conducted two checkpoints in conjunction with the Road Saftey Authority and seized a car and a heavy goods vehicle (HGV).

A silver Fiat Panda was seized after the vehicle in question was discovered to have no tax, no insurance and no NCT.

Gardaí seized the HGV after the public service vehicle was discovered to be "dangerously defective".

The HGV was escorted to the garage for immediate repairs to be carried out.

Gardaí in Cork have been increasing the number of checkpoints in recent weeks. 

Earlier this month, a number of vehicles were prohibited from continuing their journeys after their tyres were excessively worn.
