Gardaí arrest man in Charleville after discovering cannabis growhouse

Gardaí have today arrested a man after discovering a growhouse worth an estimated €23,500.

Gardaí have today arrested a man in his 40s following the discovery of a growhouse in the Charleville area of Cork.

Shortly after 1pm, Gardaí from the Drugs Unit in Mallow, assisted by detectives from Mallow and uniform Gardaí from Charleville, executed a search warrant at a house in Charleville.

During the course of the search suspected cannabis plants with an estimated value of €23,500 were seized. 

In a statement issued by the Garda Press Office they stated:

"The suspected drugs will now be sent for analysis.

"A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and was brought to Mallow Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984."
