The national forecaster is predicting Munster will be dry and cold on December 25, stating:

"Current trends suggest high pressure will build towards Ireland for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with an increased likelihood of dry, chilly and settled weather."

Meanwhile, today is set to remain dry with just a few isolated showers.

Fog is expected to linger for the duration of the morning but will clear in the afternoon.

Met Éireann is advising caution later tonight, with a likelihood of frost and ice setting in as the temperatures fall to a low of zero degrees.

Tomorrow will be bright and cold, with highest temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees in light breezes.

Sunday's weather is expected to be mixed, with conditions clearing on Monday ahead of Christmas Eve.
