A MAN in his 20s has been arrested in relation to a number of burglaries across Cork and Waterford.
The incidents took place over the period over a period of 10 days in May of last year.
The man is also suspected of fleeing from Gardaí in a car and colliding with two vehicles, including a Garda car, on May 11, last year.
A Garda spokesperson said this morning:"On Tuesday 25th February 2020, Gardaí arrested a 28 year old man in Mallow, County Cork on suspicion of being involved in numerous burglary offences across counties Cork and Waterford on Wednesday 2nd May 2018 and Friday 11th May 2018. The man is currently being detained at Mayfield Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
"On Friday 11th May 2018, following reports of a number of burglaries in the Southern Region, a Garda operation was implemented in an attempt to intercept and arrest a suspected offender, the man fled the scene in a car and collided with two occupied vehicles (one of which was a Garda vehicle). No injuries were reported during the incident.
"Investigations are ongoing."
