This Easter may have been very different from previous years but one Cork youth club managed to still bring a smile to people’s faces by means of improvisation.

Ballinlough Youth Centre held an Easter parade which saw locals decorate their cars with balloons, banners, ribbons and teddies and drive through the locality while adhering to the 2km radius travel restriction.

The parade took place on Easter Sunday and had children smiling ear to ear as they celebrated with their families from the safety of their own cars.

The youth centre also held a food collection for Cork Penny Dinners who serve up freshly made meals to those in need and filed three cars worth of food supplies.

In a post on social media, Ballinlough Youth Centre thanked people for their support which was “greatly appreciated”.

The youth centre are continuing to collect donations and the next delivery will be made on April 24.

Ballinlough Youth Centre is one of the country’s Foróige clubs, encouraging people to take responsibility for themselves and to be part of shaping the world around them while developing their talents and skills.
