Cork hospital runs new competition inviting people to design a face mask
CUMH is inviting the public to design a face mask.

In a bid to celebrate Cork's ingenuity, Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH) is currently running a competition inviting people to design a face mask.

The competition is open to both staff and members of the public and entries will be judged on style, design and suitability.

Interested participants must write out the steps involved in creating the mask, then take a photo or video of themselves wearing the mask and email this to donna.burtchaell@ucc.ie then leave an example of the mask at CUMH reception addressed to Donna Burtchaell.

The closing date for submissions is Thursday, May 7 and the winner will receive an iPad.

The competition comes as CUMH earlier this week announced that as of Thursday, April 30, all staff, patients and visitors to the hospital will be asked to wear a mask.

Any patients or visitors who do not have a mask on arrival will be given one.

In addition, Covid-19 symptom screening remains in place at CUMH.

All patients, visitors and staff are screened before they enter the hospital.
